The popular consensus seems to be that Eastwood’s pain will be Martin Scorsese’s gain. Scorsese now can be considered a near-lock for best director. In addition to Scorsese, Bill Condon (“Dreamgirls”), Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (“Little Miss Sunshine”), Stephen Frears (“The Queen”), and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (“Babel”) scored DGA nominations.

If you are keeping score, Oscar Frenzy correctly predicted three out of the five DGA nominees. We expected Eastwood to garner a nomination and also predicted Todd Field would be nominated for “Little Children.”
