On Friday night, the Broadcast Film Critics Association will hold their annual awards show. This is the first major awards show where all the stars typically come out. The winners on Friday night become the instant frontrunners in the Oscar race. In 2006, The Departed won Best Picture at the Broadcast Awards. Two months later, they were the Academy’s choice for Best Picture. This year, there are some close races in the Best Actress and Supporting Actress categories.
