BAFTAs Recognize Slumdog

Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up at the BAFTA awards, winning seven awards. Benjamin Button also did well, winning a total of three design-related awards.

Oscar Frenzy correctly predicted twelve out the sixteen BAFTA Winners.

BAFTA Predictions – The Countdown Really Begins Now

In recent years, the British Academy of Film and Television Awards have contributed much to Oscar speculation. None has been bigger than this year, when they nominated “The Reader” for Best Picture. Turns out they were on to something, as “The Reader” shocked the world by bumping “The Dark Knight” off the Best Picture list. In fact, BAFTA’s Best Picture nominees exactly mirror the Oscars this year. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (***1/2)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the poor man’s Forrest Gump. Eric Roth, screenwriter of extraordinary works like Munich, The Insider, and of course Forrest Gump, has “adapted” F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story about a man who lives his life backwards.
