National Board of Review Celebrates No Country for Old Men

The National Board of Review named No Country for Old Men the best film of the year. Could this be the start of a No Country for Old Men awards sweep? Conspicuously absent from the top ten films is 3:10 to Yuma, one of our favorite films of the year. Overall, we correctly predicted six of the top ten films.

National Board of Review Predictions

Get ready. Get set. Go! The countdown to the Oscars officially kicks off tomorrow night when the National Board of Review releases its yearly top ten list. Typically, at least four of the eventual Best Picture nominees are included on this prestigious list. Also, in addition, NBR’s Best Picture winner almost certainly makes the final cut. Past winners includes “Letters From Iwo Jima,” “Good Night and Good Luck,” “Finding Neverland,” “Mystic River,” and “The Hours.”

National Board of Review acting honorees also fare well with the Academy. For four years running, they have accurately predicted Best Actor. Last year…
